This week in nursery we have started our countdown to Christmas with our interactive calendar, every day the children are taking turns opening the window and discovering what activity we will be doing, we have already delivered presents across the world and shared new stories. To support the children in learning about why Christmas is special for so many people we have been sharing the story of the very first Christmas Day. Talking about Mary, Jospeh and baby Jesus, how they travelled on a donkey and stayed in a stable before Jesus was born.

Last week our curious little learners in nursery became boat builders! Using recycled materials like bottles, boxes and foil, the children designed their very own boats. Once our boats were ready, we tested them to see if they would float or sink. There were some moments of joy as some successfully took passengers across the water tray and some giggles as others turned into a soggy mess and sunk to the bottom!

Tomorrow is the Year 3 trip to Flag Fen Archaeology Park . The children will need to be at school for 8:35am as we will be leaving at 9:00am. Please ensure your child arrives at school on time so suitable briefings can be given. The children are due back at approximately 3:15pm so please pick your child up straight from the bus at Furrowfields carpark.

This week Years 3 - 6 will be taking part in England Rocks through TT Rockstars. The competition runs from 18th - 20th November. Children can play any game type for up to 1 hour a day. Who will be the winning class this year?
