This week, the Reception children had a visit from some animals. We were able to hold them and to touch them if we wanted to. The big spider called a tarantula stayed in its box but we used our noticing skills to look closely at it. We saw that it had 8 legs is had a hairy body. It had orange and black stripes with a bit of grey and brown. We held a tortoise called Tinky Winky. It was heavy and we noticed a pattern on its shell. We even held a snake whose name was Buttercup. The snake was squishy and it had a pattern on it like a mermaid.
We also held and learnt about a cockroach, millipede, bearded dragon (called Max), 2 different lizards and a snail. We had a great morning. A huge thank you to Hazel from the Animal Experience Team.
